Now that the London Olympic games are over, there will be millions of poeple around the globe interested in enhancing their own fitness levels and perhaps compete in local sports competitions. We’ve had a fantastic summer for sports with the inclusion of The European Football Championships. There is an upward trend for those looking to get into fitness. However, the colder darker nights are upon us and this is a time where our motivation starts to slide as we develop a lack of motivation. So what most of us do is we purchase fitness equipment for home use.
One of the more popular machines we invest in is the treadmill. But many make the mistake of impulse buying on one of these machines. In this article I want to show you three questions you should ask yourself before you make an investment into a treadmill device. Lets take a look at these below…
What Do You Need This Machine For?
The first question you need to ask yourself honestly is what do you actaully need this machine for? Are you going to use it for walking, running or perhaps even jogging? If you are interested in running, you’ll want to consider certain criteria such as speed, incline, motor stability and running deck size. You might also want to think about the cushioing system on the treadmill belt. Is it durable? What are others saying about this treadmill belt? Does it do its job correctly?
For those that are interested in walking, or light jogging you can think about using a lower end model as you wont be putting so much demand and strain on the components of the machine.
How Often Are You Going To Use This Machine?
Now that you have established what you need it for, you need to ask yourself, how often am I going to use this machine? Are you planning on using it 1-2 times a week? Or maybe upto 5 times a week. Knowing the answers to these questions help a lot as you’ll be able to determine the type of warranty you should be aiming for. For example, if you want to use the machine 5 times a week, be sure there is a good warranty cover along with durable and stable parts. Be sure that the machine is comfortable to work with as you’ll be using it very often.
Do I Have The Space For A Treadmill?
In my experience, many people make the mistake of not asking and researching the answer to this question correctly. It is vitally important that you make sure that you have sufficient space to handle such a device like a treadmill. You can get treadmills that fold up when you are not using them, which saves space. But when you unfold them, be sure you have enough space between the treadmill, the coffee table and the couch! The best thing to do is measure out a generous space for your treadmill and give enough space between other furniture. Bare in mind that you “could†actually fall off your treadmill and the last thing you want to do is create further injury from other pieces of furniture.
