The recent cases involving Middle East Respiratory Syndrome have put citizens on edge. There are questions on whether or not it is safe to travel, especially when warnings are made in airport terminals to alert travelers heading to the Arabian Peninsula to take precautions. Luckily, MERS is not easily spread, and it has not yet reached a level of public health emergency. Precautions to take if traveling near infected areas is to wash hands often, avoid touching the face and avoid close contact with anyone who is sick.
