A new study published on November 6, 2012 analyzed the impact of various types of physical activity had on the life span of adults. Their objective was to determine the years of life gained after age 40 associated with various levels of physical activity, both overall and according to body mass index (BMI) groups. Their study group consisted of 654,827 individuals, 21–90 years of age.
