For many years, mothers across the nation have ceaselessly worried over their sons, nephews and husband playing at football. It’s no secret that playing the sport presents a high risk of possible concussions. Even with the protection of helmets, concussions are still very prominent and only visual inspection by the coaches or trainers is what stands between the players’ return to the field.
Recently, a new product has reached the market that can help detect concussions in real time. New head-impact systems have been put into players’ football helmets to trigger a warning when a player sustains a hard blow to the head. True, the systems are not completely foolproof and have plenty of room for improvement, but much of the general population looks forward to implementing these new systems to help to keep injuries at a minimum.
