A Study led by the University of California, San Francicso (UCSF) published yesterday found that people who tan indoors have a 29 percent hight risk of developing basal cell carcinoma and a 67 percent hight risk of developing squamous cell carcinoma. Younger people are at greater risk, according to the researchers. The study reviewed medical articles published in the past 27 years that involved 80,000 people in several countries. An earlier study this year indicated that 5.4% of new melanoma in Western Europe are linked to sunbed use, and reinforced the increased danger to young people.
